Welcome to the Flipside
When you are an independant bike company there is absolutely
no point building bikes like everyone else. Since 1986,
a fiercely independant streak has pushed us out in our own
direction - make that two - Burly and Light. These are the
driving forces behind every bike we make - to meet the needs
of the most demading riders on the DH trails of British
Columbia.
You Don't Stay Ahead by Sitting Around Waiting for Inspiration.
Everyone who works at brodie is an active rider. So we
are constantly out on the trails putting our bikes through
their paces. And we use less active times, like pushing
a DH uphill, dressing a wound, or catching our breath, to
check things out. Like who's getting the biggest air - what's
the latest trick everyone's doing - what are even the crazy
riders shying away from - then all of this insight comes
back with us. And together we brainstorm what the next evolution
of our frame design will look like,
Behind the Scene
By the time you've seen one of our new bikes at a dealer,
there have already been early prototypes of that model we've
designed, built, rigorously tested and retooled to meet
our exacting standards - and that goes for our entire ineup.
Four Burly Additions and One Re-issue.
The Gigolo and Libido are so light, they almost belong
in our 'Light' product line. But make no mistake, for full-on
trail riding they deliver the goods with up to 7" of
travel and a reinforced, torsion-resistant monocoque frame.
The fact that these bikes climb so well is just a perk.
our new Heathen and Cretin bring our 'Burly' line out of
the woods and into the urban landscape. They have all the
necessary details, like thru-axel fork, the right crank
and grind plates, required for vert-ramps and urban grinding,
plus a selection of gears and brakes. The indestructible
steel-alloy frame - built to fit 26" wheels if you
ever want them - also has bottle openers built into the
reinforced tube gussets for post-ride socializing.
On the stiffer side, we also added some girth to our line
of hardtails, by bringing back the big daddy of our Hard
Ass series: The one and only Bigshot. Mind you, we couldn't
help but add a few extras like longer travel and 16-speed
SRAM gears that hold up better to adverse conditions like
mud, rain, and the ocasional bent derailleur. |
