Cromoly is in our blood and with a little something for almost everyone; we just couldn’t leave it off the menu any longer. Whether riding down a trail, along a long and winding road or across town we have you covered with the classic feel of steel.
A good deal of what has been said in the steel vs aluminum debate is pure noise, obfuscation that clouds the truth behind our favourite frame materials. We have an affinity for both because of the qualities they enjoy, but have a historical love of steel because it's the material we started building our first bikes from.
The ride of your bike is much more dependent on how the frame is constructed, with geometry, tubing diameter and tubing wall thickness being more critical than material itself. You can buy a frame made of either, or ride Ti or carbon fibre, but the processes through which the tubing of choice was manufactured will dictate how the frame feels when it is ridden.
A repairable nature, important to those who travel far from the beaten path, not to mention a very nearly fatigue free lifespan, make steel an excellent frame material and provide two good reasons for our lifelong love affair.
